Vines (A Killers Novel, Book 1)
4 The Cows Stole the Show Stars Brynne Asher brings a new couple to life with Abby And Crew. And I'm happy to see that she brought something new and different to take away from her "Carpino Series", which I loved! Abby has started to build a life for herself after the death of her mother. Moving to Virginia and buying a struggling winery seemed like something to start a new chapter and beginning. Making a life that was now her own and free from the secrecy she has kept buried. She just didn't expect to inherit a group of people who would become her family. Crew Vega is looking for the kind of solitude where the bustle of work can keep him grounded. Especially after the business him and his two partners are getting into. Finding the perfect lot with the enough acres he requires, he settles next to Abby's Whitetail winery. There's enough space between the two that he'll ever have an issue running into his neighbor. And to think... all it took was one stubborn cow to change that plan. Abby meets Crew while looking for her cow. The man is all sorts of mystery, intrigue, and a little scary. But most of all frustrating. She's not one to shy away and throw her sass when needed. Even after their encounter where Crew gives Abby and extremely generous check to pay for the fence that needed mending. She just can't get away from the infuriating man. But things start to change when someone starts looking into Abby and the past she thought she left behind. Even more so when this figure is bad for Crews business and the life he left behind. He needs to know why they're looking into his minx of a neighbor and make sure that it stays far away from reaching him. I really did enjoy Vines, I thought it gave it the right balance of romance, humor, suspense, and a little bit of action that Ms. Asher is so good at incorporating into her stories. And we have seen that in her previous work. I think the thing that I enjoyed was that Brynne Asher kept the same dynamics in mind that she had with her "Carpino Series." Introducing us to a series of of characters to whet our whistle and anticipate a book for the characters that intrigue us. Overall, I will say that this is something different from her previous books, but with the same entertainment. If you truly loved Ms. Asher's precious work, then you'll enjoy Abby and Crew's journey and story. ARC graciously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
